Yes, the long awaited third book in the Hogwarts: Tales of the Staff is released.
Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban. For the students of Hogwarts, little has changed. They still have classes, homework, Quidditch, exams, and the usual hijinks of boarding school life. But for the staff, leaving the castle now means encounters with the dementors, awful beings which drain joy and happiness out of the people who go by them.
Fortunately for them, Calla Avery, fresh out of her apprenticeship under Chef Grant, has joined the staff as a sous-chef. Chocolate treats are one of her first ideas, provided to the staff to combat the effects of their encounters. However, her duties in the kitchen seem minor to her adjustment to staff life. From her amazement at her quarters to the secrets of Hogwarts she now has access to, she'l going to find being a member of the staff is nothing like she imagined.
The secret society known as The Sisters have spent years trying to locate the Path of Slytherin. Now that the Camber of Secrets has been rediscovered, they are set to resume their quest. However, even as the location is revealed, they find themselves twarted by protections Salazar Slytherin built into his castle secret. Can they find a way to enter it, and solve the puzzle within?
Professor Charity Burbage, who teaches Muggle Studies, is finally ready to find a decent man after last year's disasterous relationship with Gilderoy Lockhart. However, fate is not kind of the pretty young witch. From nightclubs in Glasgow to occult shops in London, Charity's dating life is a rollercoaster of emotions.
The rest of the staff is also keeping busy. Professor McGonagall's Double LIfe continues to impact the staff in surprising ways, while Professor Vector continues to try to understand the math behind Harry Potter. From a magical infestation of pests in the staff wing to harsh detentions, the staff carries on, with pressure valves like special theme nights and a host bar Christmas party a welcome relief from the pressures of castle life.
